Who am I?  That is a question, that at 47-years old, I feel I am still trying to define.  It seems to change with each passing moment, each passing month, and each passing year.  I am a child of God, wife to a wonderful honeyman, mom to 4 wonderful kids, grandmother to 4 precious little ones, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  I also have 8 chickens, 3 bunnies, and two dogs.  Family is an important part of my life.

I like to do many things.  These days find me quilting, sewing, designing patterns, or crocheting more often than not.  Of course, that is based on how often I can fit these things in between working 45-65 hours a week, and babysitting the grandbabies many evenings and weekends.  Although I like to do other things — reading, gardening, basket making, baking, stamping, scrapbooking, hiking, traveling — I often don’t find the time to do any of them.

I am not a writer, and don’t pretend to be one, so my posts may not exactly be mellifluous prose.  But hopefully you will learn something, be inspired, or at least entertained.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Hi Lynn!!! So happy to have found your blog. You’ve inspired me to make a scrappy wonky log cabin– as if I need another WIP!
Stitching Sisters is still going strong. We assembled a baby quilt top yesterday and I do most of the Quilting on my used HQ 16 so it falls to me to get it on to the binding stage.
    I’ll delegate that finishing part.
Anyway I’ll be following your fun. I found you as part of the Christa Quilts blog hop. I hope to get her book sometime. I’ve recently “met” via blog etc Amanda Jean. I did get June Quilt after buying her new book and I have a Dot Your I’s in process for in-the-car handwork when Jim and I trek to Charlotte, Charleston or
TN to see our 4 kids or 12 grands. ( !!!) God is soooo good.
Bless you and yours. Beth Stanfield, Durham
Check out my Etsy site please.
HoneycombTreasQuilts on Etsy. Not too successful, but an outlet for quilts to come.

  2. I just left a reply to one of your posts. How fun to read that you also have four kids, and work (I work only 30 hours outside the home) and have many different hobbies (I like gardening, playing the clarinet, sewing, quilting, knitting, jogging, riding my bike, reading, baking, …, and I would love to learn how to make baskets!). Hopefully I’ll have grandchildren one day, but right now my own kids have only just outgrown their baby years at 10, 8, 5 and 3 years old (I’m 37 myself, so I probably won’t be a grandmother before I’m 50).

    • Hi Saartje. Great to hear about your kids. I didn’t think I’d be a grandmother this early either. But when my oldest kids were 19, they had other ideas. I wouldn’t trade it for the world though. My grandkids are the bomb!!! They make not killing my kids when they were teenagers so worth it! Sounds like your hobbies keep you quite busy too. I have so many, I can’t find the time to do all of them. I bet you have the same problem… 😀
